Glyphs are going nicely, for now.

I’ve made over 15k gold from glyphs since yesterday morning. I’m out of mats on that server and won’t make much of an effort to get more. I’ll sell off the inventory and then mostly leave the glyph game to others. How long will the good times last? Dunno.
Why are they hot? Two reasons:
- New glyph slots for the Prime glyphs. Nine total for a level 85.
- You new longer have to buy new glyphs to swap them out. Now you can buy once, learn it, and swap it in and out from your list using Vanishing Dust. (Said dust can be had from your Inscription supplier and probably the reagents dealer.)
So a whole bunch of people are in a rush to fill o ttheir glyph lists will all the interesting glyphs, if not all of them. New characters will always be coming into the game so there will always be some demand for the things. Certainly it will slow down fairly soon, so if you’re able then now’s the time.
Here’s a rough “can I make money making glyphs” formula.
- 3 stacks of herbs will make about 15 inks. Give or take.
- 3 inks per glyph and we’ll ignore the paper costs.
- If one stack of herbs is 20 gold then you’re spending 60 gold (three stacks) to make 5 glyphs.
- Your cost is 12 gold each. What will you sell them for?
- Can you lower the costs?
Herbs are going for quite a bit more than 20g a stack right now. Inks are going for a lot more.
If you’re an herbalist your hsould be able to make a pretty fair amount by gathering those herbs. Any herbs, but especially pre-Northrend, since Northrend is so heavily farmed.
Wanna farm herbs and make inks? That looks good right now.
Auctioneer and, as I understand it, the other AH addos are broken right now. Auctionator works well, though.
On the main site we have a lot of general WoW gold tips which should be Evergreen through Cataclysm or any expansion. Specifici mobs will change, but the techniques won’t.
