World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King

madgan | August 19, 2008

Alright, I haven’t had quite the time I’d like to write up a full review for you all, but what I have to post immediately is a few pictures and in a little bit a video of the death knight starting zone as I’m sure you’re all interested to see.  Look for some more on the 70+ content as well as further coverage of a new death knights journey to 80, starting of course at 55, in the coming days.

I’ll note that the name ‘Ramp’ was actually selected by virtue of the impeccable randomized naming, I think it’s kind of catchy.

And here’s an image of the completed death knight, crazy rocker hair now covered by his death knight hood, an overall rather suave look.

Just a cool loading screen picture.

Neat little soulforge quest, this gives you your first runeblade weapon before promptly sending you on a quest to slay someone with it.

An old buddy from Naxxramas decided to show his face here, also the Lich King is in attendance at another section of the floating scourge city.

Gotwarcraft’s New Groove

madgan | June 3, 2008

So, by now I’m sure you’ve noticed how some things have slightly changed style wise, but that’s not all, not even close.  As an example, I direct you to the Warrior Class Guide, notice anything different? I’d expect so.

Anyway, the template used for this guide is planned to be applied to not only all the other class and leveling guides within the next few days, but I’d like to actually present specific talent-tree oriented class guides for every possible variation.

What this means is a guide for protection, fury, and arms warriors, or for another example, restoration, feral, and balance druid talent, gear, and leveling guides.  In essence I want to expand Gotwarcraft’s services to match every possible variant of every class in the game, as well as bringing all our profession, raiding, and PvP guides up to a similar new level of content.

Guide Updates

madgan | March 28, 2008

Alright, the fury warrior guide has been re-written entirely for the latest patch, focusing more on 70’s DPS and how to maximize your gear slots for the greatest synergy of STR, +crit & +hit.  Additionally numerous other pages have been tweaked slightly/finished as needed.

Black Temple

madgan | March 25, 2008

Alright, the Illidan Stormrage guide was finally uploaded finishing off the Black Temple raid-boss guides, this leaves only the still in testing Sunwell Plateau for which I will attempt to gather as much information on as possible.

Also, expect the class guides to be given another revision/re-writing in the near-future, including some updates/added guides for more specific builds such as Tankadins, Arena/PvP builds and so on.

Cheers.

Karazhan, Kael’thas, Serpentshrine Cavern - Finished Mount Hyjal, Black Temple, Sunwell Plateau - Coming Soon

madgan | March 15, 2008

Alright, just a little update here in that I’ve finished adding guides up for Karazhan, Prince Malchezaar, Nightbane, etc. and moved on to Serpentshrine Cavern, Lady Vashj guide should be coming later today. Also, The Eye was finished off with a rather lengthy Kael’thas guide should you feel the need to check him out.

All in all I’d expect I could write up to possibly even Archimonde and Illidan today, so check back later for more updates, also as details on Sunwell Plateau(a Patch 2.4 raid instance) come out I’ll provide as much in the way of a guide for those bosses as I can.

Guide Updates: Tempest Keep - The Eye

Rikto | January 28, 2008

Well, another update, this time for the Eye in Tempest Keep: we have guides for both Al’ar, the Phoenix god, and Void Reaver, AKA Loot Reaver.

Al’ar Guide - Al’ar is the first boss within the Eye of Tempest Keep. This is basically Kael’thas’ pet phoenix, much like he was capable of summoning in the Warcraft III game, should you have played that.

Void Reaver Guide - Although strictly speaking this is the second boss of the Eye, in all truth you can easily skip by the previous boss, Al’ar, and first take down this guy who is aptly named loot reaver.

Having Gruul for Dinner

Rikto | January 10, 2008

Well, updating the whole Polyphasic sleep schedule deal and… how should I explain this… time seems to pass in an amazingly sloth-like manner now.

I’ve kept it up for a bit of time now and I can already feel the effects, meaning, my body is adapting for certain as the naps become easier to fall asleep and awaken on time, yet I’m also finding it exceedingly difficult to maintain consciousness throughout the night, around the 1-5 AM period.

You wouldn’t believe how odd it is to drift off mid-writing and begin dreaming while still moving around in the otherwise waking world.

An example would be finding my keyboard suddenly animated as if possessed by an artificial intelligence while I punch in the button to update the website is… a unique experience at the very least.

Regardless, forging onward, and so on, look for more updates as to this process in a few days or so, maybe after football on Saturday.

Other than that, I’ve somehow managed to avoid writing anything whatsoever related to the actual title of this post, as in I’ve posted up a Gruul the Dragonkiller Guide to GotWarcraft, so without further ado here is the Gruul Guide.

Several New World of Warcraft Raid Guides

Rikto | December 29, 2007

We added a new raid guide - Magtheridon’s Lair Guide

We’ve added two more Karazhan Guides:

Shade of Aran - The Sixth boss of Karazhan is the equivalent to a benchmark or skill check on many raids given his unique nature and the rather difficult elements that construct this boss fight, including what is ultimately a mad mage running loose on your raid.

The Curator - Guardian of the Menagerie, the Curator hits for around 3000-3500 on tanks with normal attacks and has a bit over a million health.

Here’s what’s new in Zul’Aman Guides:

We updated all Zul’Aman guides and added three Zul’Aman boss guides, so we now have the following:

Nalorakk Guide, the first boss of Zul’Aman, is also one of simpler ones, although not necessarily easy.

Akil’Zon Guide is the second boss of Zul’Aman. He is also the eagle avatar, which is made evident with his eagle summoning, lightning attacks, and various other such abilities.

Jan’alai the Dragonhawk Avatar guide. Jan’alai the Dragonhawk Avatar is one of the more interesting boss fights of Zul’Aman. This guy hits hard and has over a million health to deal with, so be ready for a possibly challenging fight.

Halazzi Guide, the lynx avatar, is a damage intensive boss fight with around 600,000 health and a lot of tough tricks to get through.

Hex Lord Malacrass Guide - This guy not only hits for a decent amount of damage purely in melee but also has an amazing amount of health backed up by devastating abilities, many of them AoE’s that make healing quite an intensive and difficult process.

Zul’Jin Guide - Lord of Zul’Aman and the final boss of the instance, Zul’Jin is one tough fellow, hitting for an average of 4000+ in every form and changing form every 20% forcing your raid to adapt to his new abilities, a fun and difficult fight.

Last, but not least, we’ve added a High King Maulgar Guide. The leader of this five boss encounter, High King Maulgar hits for about 4,500 or so damage on Karazhan-geared warriors and beyond 7,000 with his crushing blows and the demoralizing shout debuff. Additionally, the boss has around 757,000 Health.

If all this isn’t enough for you we highly recommend the World of Warcraft Raiding Guide by Killer Guides.
