Tycoon’s a new “gold guide,” but it has an interesting difference. It’s an addon, in the way that Zygor’s leveling guide is an addon. No more PDFs or websites to look up, it’s all on screen.

In this case the addon makes the business of gold acquisition much easier. So far it’s for high level gatherables and crafts only, but that’s going to change very soon, according to the guys in charge. The plans are for it to become something that even low levels can use for great profit.

Take a look, Tycoon review.

As we all know, leveling guides can be a great way to power level your characters to 85 in a matter of days…as long as you start from level 1 and play solo. Anyone who has tried using a leveling guide with Pre-Leveled characters, Heirloom items, Recruit-A-Friend, or Dungeons/PVP, knows they don’t work as well in those situations. Some adjustment and catching up is needed.

Gain a few levels while questing, hop into the dungeons for a couple more, quest for a few more, jump into some PvP and gain a couple more levels, go back to questing… Even the in-game quest finder can’t handle that. Sure, it’ll show you where the quests are and you’ll see some gray quests in your log, but what’s not quite so clear is where to go and what to do, next.

That’s now changed. Zygor Guides has geared and gemmed up and now has a far higher Int than before.

It’s always been able to show you the best path to get leveled fast, but now it can do it efficiently even with you taking time out to dungeon or PvP level. Come out of the dungeons a few levels higher and Zygor’s will take note of your new level and figure out where you need to go.

It doesn’t matter if you start using the guide late in the game, or with the increased experience gained from Heirloom items or RAF, or even rest XP, Zygor’s guide can intelligently sync with your character instantly. You can even do dungeons or pvp and jump right back into the guide like you never stopped using it at all.

It really caters to your specific playing style.

We’ve been using the guides for a long time now (an 85 Rogue being the most recently leveled toon) and have seen a lot of upgrades and it just keeps getting better and better. WoW’s in-game system is Ok, but it isn’t close to Zygor’s guides.

Check it out and grab your copy here.

I just wanted to recommend some really good leveling guides to you all that have been upgraded for WoTLK so you can get to 80 in just a few days. I also found a good in-depth Death Knight Guide. It has over 100 pages of information about good talent builds and leveling tips.

Ok, here are the leveling guides:

First is my favorite one, Zygor’s In-Game Leveling Guide.

Although I think Zygor’s guide is the easiest to use, Joana and Brian Kopp’s guides have also been updated and are now also in-game similar Zygor’s guide.

Brian Kopp’s Aliance Leveling Guide: I would recommend this if you play an Alliance character. It has a slightly better 1-60 leveling path IMO than Zygor’s guide. You should take a look at both of their websites though and see which looks best to you because for Alliance both guides are really good.

If you play Horde though I think Zygor’s guide is still easily number one though.

Death Knight Guide: I know that many of you are now playing a Death Knight or are about to make one soon, so I really want to recommend the Killer Guides Death Knight Guide. It has tons of useful information.

Alright, I haven’t had quite the time I’d like to write up a full review for you all, but what I have to post immediately is a few pictures and in a little bit a video of the death knight starting zone as I’m sure you’re all interested to see. Look for some more on the 70+ content as well as further coverage of a new death knights journey to 80, starting of course at 55, in the coming days.

I’ll note that the name ‘Ramp’ was actually selected by virtue of the impeccable randomized naming, I think it’s kind of catchy.

And here’s an image of the completed death knight, crazy rocker hair now covered by his death knight hood, an overall rather suave look.

Just a cool loading screen picture.

Neat little soulforge quest, this gives you your first runeblade weapon before promptly sending you on a quest to slay someone with it.

An old buddy from Naxxramas decided to show his face here, also the Lich King is in attendance at another section of the floating scourge city.

It’s more than likely that at any one time in your gaming experience, whether it be on world of World of Warcraft or other such MMORPG and thus inevitably level based games, you’ve likely wished eveything could just be a little bit easier, I personally am no stranger to the sentiment.

Still, back when I brought my first characters to 60, and eventually 70, there were no leveling aids beyond “grind this, grind that,” and even those sources could be more than a little vague, leveling was simply one massive exercise in mental exertion to maintain zombie-like activities of pressing 1, 2, 3, repeat.

Perhaps some of these difficulties were solved when Blizzard lowered the experience required to level, enough so that I managed to force myself to bring yet another paladin up to 70 in record time, a blood elf for some horde side PvP heal-botting.

Still, I can’t bring myself to say that the whole leveling game was ‘fun’, much more that it took less time, but throughout the time I did spend leveling, strenuous effort was expended on not going mad whilst completing the “slay 10 killer bunnies”quest for the umpteenth time.

Overall, at least in my opinion, leveling is hell, which is why I was surprised to find something so intriguing, at least as far as guides go, that I manage to bring myself to starting yet another new character – A warlock in fact, something of which I possess none of horde side. The guide in question? something called Zygor’s automated leveling guides.

Now, automated you ask? as in it does all the work for you? Well obviously that would be breaking numerous rules, rather, the guide presents quite possibly the furthest one can bring step-by-step leveling detail without actually coming over to your house and mashing the keys for you.

Here you can see the menu fully opened, and this basically sums up all the detail required. Each step when selected has further detail, giving more information as to where the NPC in question might be, what monsters to kill, etc. But all in all this guide set-up comes the closest to doing everything for you that I can imagine possible, at least without violating more than a few rules.

Here you can see my newly created blood elf Warlock, yes I have a suspicious number of blood elves – after playing a tauren for more than a few years I’ve come to appreciate a smaller character-model for PvP. Another similarity is the Japanese name, this is because I am in-fact studying japanese in the fanatastic WoW-killer MMORPG known as Real-life, at least when not slavering away at grinding or writing something up for the site, but I digress.

Level’s came fast and easy, the guides intuitively easy to access and follow interface turned what was once a concious yet zombie-like interaction between my hands and the keyboard into the mere flashing by of levels, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. all blended into one continuous game of “catch the arrow” followed by madly clicking anything with a golden exclamation then repeating step one

Before I even realized it, I was level 10, a brand spanking new talent point at my disposal, and somehow located within the center of the dead scar. Whether the lack of memory about my doings for the previous hour or so was the effect of mindlessly following an arrow for extended durations of time, or the result of my mind instinctively defending itself against the infernal machinations of the leveling grind, I may never know. Either way, the guide had definitely proved that it was working thus so far, and quite well at that.

This is of course just the start, but as far as first impressions go, the guides pretty much proved itself as the be-all-end-all of leveling guides, at least until someone invents a robot capable of replacing me at the keyboard, but I have a feeling that’s a bit far off from completion.

Check back every couple days, I’ll update my experiences with the guide on the way to 70 soon – Also, now that you’ve read the review and if you’re interested in checking this guide out, click here for Zygor’s 1-70 Alliance & Horde Leveling Guides.
