Dungeon Entrance Discovery No Longer Required

February 8, 2011 in Instances, Patches

The 4.06 patch has landed and there are some changes.

Regarding our post Cataclysm Dungeon Entrances, those entrances no longer need to be discovered before entering the dungeons.

It also looks like level 85s now have a reason to do the regular dungeons. JPs can now be gained at a reasonable rate, at least for the daily dungeon.

  • Level-85 players can now choose any normal dungeon via the Dungeon Finder. Choosing Random Dungeon will still not add Blackrock Caverns or Throne of the Tides into the rotation.
  • Level-85 dungeon bosses in Lost City of the Tol’vir, Grim Batol, and Halls of Origination now drop 30 Justice Points each when killed.
  • The daily Random Dungeon reward on normal difficulty has been increased to 140 Justice Points, up from 70.
  • Players no longer need to discover Cataclysm dungeon entrances in order to access them via the Dungeon Finder.

We have guides to the various heroic versions of these dungeons. Cataclysm Heroics

Check out our Heroic Blackrock Caverns Boss Guide

The entrance to Blackrock Mountainis between Searing Gordge and Burning Steps.
To get there go to the Summoning Stone and follow the normal path. You’ll see the entrance after your first right.

Coming from Burning Steppes you’ll enter the mountain and come in at the south end of the Molten Span. Turn right, find the summoning stone on the east side and turn right into the corridor. Run along the corridor and take the next right to get to the dungeon.

Coming from Searing Gorge you will enter the mountain, turn left, and follow the path to that summoning stone and proceed as above. .

Just before the entrance you’ll see a mole machine to the left. That’s Finkle’s machine. You can take Finkle’s Mole Machine to Blackrock Mountain, from Mt. Hyjal.

World of Warcraft Patch 3.3.5

June 29, 2010 in Instances, Patches

Check out the Patch Notes for more info.

The most interesting parts imo are of course, one: “The Ruby Sanctum” and another interesting thing is the Dungeon Finder Vote Kick system change.

The functionality of the Vote Kick feature in the Dungeon Finder will now behave differently according to a player’s history with the system. Players using the Dungeon Finder who rarely vote to kick players from a group, or rarely abandon groups before a dungeon is complete, will find that the Vote Kick option will have no cooldown. For players who frequently abandon groups or vote to kick other players, the Vote Kick option will be kept on a cooldown. This functionality will adjust itself as a player’s behavior while using the Dungeon Finder changes.

You should probably read the rest of the patch notes also. It’s not like you have anything else to do while the servers are down :-p

The raid instances page has been updated, just to put the links to all our instance pages on the one page. Actual updates to the “how to” raid pages will come along eventually.
