Valentine’s Day in World of Warcraft

Rikto | February 14, 2008

If you haven’t celebrated Valentine’s Day in WoW yet there is still time. Love Is In The Air runs from Feb 11 to Feb 15. Go to the nearest innkeeper who has hearts floating above his or her head and purchase a bottle of cologne, a bottle of perfume, and a few stacks of Love Tokens.

Put on either the perfume or the cologne. and wander around one of the bigger cities for the most fun. Once you are wearing either perfume or cologne you will see hearts appear over the heads of NPCs that you can give love tokens to. The perfume or cologne effect lasts about one hour. If you are wearing perfume, you should talk to male NPCs and if you have cologne on you should talk to female NPCs.

When you open a dialogue window with one of these NPCs one of the options will be to give one of your love tokens to them. The first one you approach will adore you for one hour and give you a nice gift. From then on NPCs will just give you a gift.

Right click on the gifts in your bag and you will see various gifts depending on where you are and if you are Horde or Alliance. Each city has a different set of quest items obtainable through the Gift/Pledge of Friendships.

Visit the official site to find out all of the details: Love Is In The Air in WoW.

Where did Blizzard get those WoW dances anyway?

Rikto |

Everyone loves the special dances the characters do when you type /dance. Each character race has its own special dance and it is different for the males and females.

Have you ever wondered where Blizzard got the inspiration for those dances? Here’s a video that shows you some of the more popular dances performed by the original dancers with the character dancing next to them.

Our favorite is the male blood elf; that dance came from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. The human male gets to dance to Saturday Night Fever with John Travolta, and the night elf male dances like Michael Jackson (whatever else is going on with him, Jackson really can dance.)

It seems like the male characters have all the good moves. The female characters have boring dances. The human female got stuck with the macarena, the night elf female has to flap her hands behind her back, and the female dwarves do Riverdance. Oh, well.

Here’s the video. Enjoy!

Rikto | February 12, 2008

We’ve changed servers from host A to host B. We hope to get all the old posts back up ASAP.

We’ll also resolve any glitches with the main site as we find them, such as missing pages.

Thanks
